will have a speaker from the
St. Augustine Historical Society
at the May Meeting

The Easter Parade will be our next big event,
April 15. We want to invite all our junior members to participate
in the Easter Parade. Please contact,
Linda Brown at 827-1609, if you have family members who
want to participate. They did a great job in the Menendez
Festival Parade representing our family.

The
Menorcan Festival is March 24,
11:00 - 3:00 at the Spanish Quarter Museum on St. George
Street. Admission is free for the day. We will have a table
of information about our families on display and will help
our sister organization sell good old Menorcan food. Please
come and help us.

The
St. Ambrose Catholic Church Festival will be held March
25, 12:00 - 3:00, on the grounds of the Church.
We will have a table offering memberships, information,
flags and banners to our family members who live
In and around Elkton. The first mass of the St. Ambrose
area was held in a barn on Emmanuel Solana's property, known
at the time as the "Old Solana Land Grant". Both
the Solana and Sanchez families have a long historical presence
in the area. Please join us for an afternoon of family fellowship
and great food!

are hoping to have representatives from our group attend
the luncheon for
King Juan Carlos of Spain.
As of this date the final arrangements haven't been
completed.

 The
Solana Family Re-union will take place April 21, 2001. The
reunion will be held in Port Orange at the home of Martha
Foster, 3800 Yorktowne Blvd.

Our
March meeting brought new members and a good turnout.
If you weren't there you missed a lot of fun. We have increased
our coffers with our successful flag and banners sales.
We have placed another order to restock our inventory.
Please
note we will not be meeting in April due to the
many activities scheduled.
Our
next meeting will be May 5, 2001 at Oscar's, 10:00am.
We will have a speaker from the St. Augustine Historical

on May 19, 2001 at the St. Johns County Library, 10:00 - 12:00.
We will have plenty of table space to spread out and work
on the genealogies. We need everybody's help so please join

Memberships
are available as follows: (Please make your check out to
LOS FLORIDANOS)
$15 for a Regular Annual Membership.
All members with regular memberships will be able to purchase
our LOS FLORIDANOS medallions. These medallions will be worn
and displayed by family members at the various city and state
functions.
Memberships will run from January thru December of each year.
